At the beginning, all the colorful products were DMX512 products, which were patented and had a special DMX software system to control the lights. The equipment was expensive and few people knew how to use the system, which greatly restricted the development of colorful products.

Later, based on the performance of DMX512 light strips, some companies in the market designed SPI signal products with similar effects, which could break the patent restrictions of DMX512 and were cheaper. Soon, SPI products became popular in the market.

2. DMX512 signal data transmission frequency is higher, anti-interference is stronger, and it is suitable for more high-end application places

3. DMX512 is dual signal transmission, which has the function of breakpoint transmission. The damage of a single IC will not affect the operation of the entire light strip

SPI Magic Light Strip: Due to its high-speed and flexible communication method, SPI Magic Light Strip is more suitable for occasions that require fast response and precise control, such as interior decoration, smart home, etc.

In general, SPI has a higher cost-effectiveness and a variety of styles. Conventional projects can use SPI signal light strips; DMX512 fantasy light strips have more stable performance and are more suitable for high-end projects.

Therefore, compared with SPI color light strips, DMX512 color light strips are more advanced. If your project has higher requirements for quality and stability, or you want to achieve more complex control, it is recommended to use DMX512 color light strips.
