At the beginning, all the colorful products were DMX512 products, which were patented and had a special DMX software system to control the lights. The equipment was expensive and few people knew how to use the system, which greatly restricted the development of colorful products.

Later, based on the performance of DMX512 light strips, some companies in the market designed SPI signal products with similar effects, which could break the patent restrictions of DMX512 and were cheaper. Soon, SPI products became popular in the market.

3. DMX512 is dual signal transmission, which has the function of breakpoint transmission. The damage of a single IC will not affect the operation of the entire light strip
